Hero’s Journey Stages 5 through 8 summery.

Stage 5: Crossing the Threshold

In this fifth stage of the hero’s journey our hero will find his or herself at the starting point of there journey. Here the Hero must fully crossover into a full transition into there new life. Here the hero will also meet the threshold guardian, some sort of obstacle that blocks there way to continuing there journey or making this transition, however after completion of this stage, there hero has plunged into there new life fully accepting there destiny.

Stage 6: Test, Allies Enemies

The hero faces trials and tribulation. The hero has to find there allies and there enemies, thus he or she must identify others and them selves in order to make the decisions that have them put these labels on people. The hero will have to also choose there sidekick in there journey, the one who will accompany them on there journey.

Stage 7: Approach to the inmost cave

This is the stage where the hero approaches a close part to there final enemy, this is the path or road they take to get there and it is guarded by obstacles of which will hold them off to getting to the end destination. This may be a tough road to cross or one that is littered with many things that will attempt to convince the hero to go back and or carry on.

Stage : The ordeal

The easiest way to sum this up would be to example a “death and rebirth” from harry potter and the deathly hallows. This role is taken on literally, as harry approaches voldemort and his deatheaters in the forest, he knows here he must face his untimely death. Harry enters this scene fully accepting of the sacrifice he is going to make. Harry as he expected is blasted with a fatal blow, however instead of actually passing on, he finds him self at an imaginary place, one where he speaks with a dear mentor of his, harry is then given the choice to return to his body and regain his life, one ,might find many hidden meanings in this that could invoke much debate, however i believe it is simply a literal form of “death and rebirth”.

Texting and Driving

If i were i congress man, a law i would propose concerning texting and driving, would be one with a fine and an appearance in court as it would be declared illegal and can be punished through the law.  This would mean that a person who is caught texting and driving or found to have been texting and driving will be charged for the crime and asked to appear in court where they would them be sentenced to community service based on the severity of the case. This would not only show the offender punishment by taking money from them for endangering the community, but also give back to the community for the crime. Drinking and driving are not far apart, while one may think this is clearly wrong, as drinking is far different and more dangerous than texting, however, what they have in common is the fact that they are both driving under influence or driving distracted, which both would cause a hindrance to your driving therefor endangering others who are on the road around you.

My plan of fining and charging community service would help reduce the amount of Drinking and Driving and Texting while driving. This would reduce the number as it would teach a valuable lesson to the offenders, it would take away there time and money from what they committed as potentially harmful to the rest of the community. Over time word would spread of the law cracking down on such crimes thus reducing the amount of people who would risk this crime and rates would drop.

12th stage of the Hero’s Journey. The Return with the Elixir

In the show My little pony friendship is magic, Twilight Sparkle and her friends return after having faced discord. In this new world they see what life is like back to normal with a world not shrouded in chaos. Princess Celestia rewards the ponys for there endoevor and they are recognized as the true wielders of the elements of harmony. Twilight finishes with a bright summers day, a peaceful ending to have the person come and watch more episodes.

Twilight changed a lot after this, she and her friends gained the knowledge of combined friendship, that nothing should come between them and there life long journey to learn about friendship through the elements of harmony.

Another example is in the Percy Jackson Series. Percy returns home after camp half blood, to his mothers welcoming arms, a warn bed and a great birthday party. His friends are all gathered around, and Percy is shown how the world is changed after his journey, he is able to enjoy these things because of the adventures he endeavored to succeed in saving the world.

Percy changed himself through this journey, as a character he was able to reflect on how he became a more mature young man. He now has better social skills, as he is less awkward about his disabilities. As well as these, he has come a conforming place in his life where he can reflect on what he has done as a person.

Title of Blog: The Hero’s Journey Stage 11- The Resurrection

This is the final threshold the hero must cross before making it back to the new world, this is a test of what the hero has learned through there task. A reflection of his life before becoming a hero. This stage will show how the hero has been changed as a person, they will have progressed through the story. To this point the hero is finally aware of what they have become and then embrace there new life, and person.

In the show My little Pony Friendship is Magic, Fluttershy, is dearly afraid of dragons. This is not a known fact by her friends. As they climb a perilous mountain Fluttershy becomes more and more scared, her emotions conveyed through her clumsiness. Finally she and her friends reach the top, all prepared for Fluttershy to confront the dragon. She however is scared away to a hiding place. As her friends attempt to reason with the dragon, they anger him, and in his rage he attacks the defenseless ponies! This awakens Fluttershy, she steps out from her hiding place, and she meets face to face with the dragon, and tells him off for his rudeness. This is a demonstration of how she slowly gained assertiveness, to be able to face her fear.

Another example is in the Percy Jackson cycle, in the fifth book, percy is faced with the challenge of a face to face with Kronos. He is scared because of the prophesy that is against his will to lose, Percy however stands up to the challenge, and faces and defeats him, this is by reinterpreting the prophecy. This shows his keen ability of insight, something he gained through a long 4 book experience of watching people around him perish, this is what gave him the courage and ability to complete this task.

Title of Blog: The Hero’s Journey Stage 10- The Road Back

This stage is the heros return home, a third threshold, where the hero may have to conquer someones disbelief, the hero has returned home to help his family out of an ordeal for which he was originally compelled to seek or find. This may be the heros last challenge of there story, which will or can create a final peace or comfort for the story.

An example of this is found in this was in the television show My little Pony: Friendship is Magic. In the second season, twilight is confronted by a new villain discord, at the end of the episode, twilight and her friends are prepared to end there journey, however they return home to a world covered in chaos, all things are whack as now she and her friends must cross this one last threshold in order to defeat discord and his plot to rule all of Equestria in chaos.

Another example is in the Harry Potter books, at least in the third book, harry returns to kings cross, to be greeted by his aunt and uncle, who are bent on revenge for Harrys mishap with his uncles sister earlier in the book. Harry, with the new found knowledge of his godfather uses him as a threat to his aunt and uncle to not harm him. This is proof of harry’s long journey, and the things that he has gained along the way, which is his final crossing into the end of the book, as the reader now knows that harry is now more likely to have a more enjoyable experience without his aunt and uncles rage weighing on his shoulders.
